The beauty of Mandaeru is from its naturalness, not the greatness of the building. The elegance of the building made only with wooden materials shines over the colors of natural woods and the time.
If stepping down under the floor, thick columns in its narutal shapes support the building. Wooden column are very different from each other.
Footstones also look natural, as if they were there originally. Some stones are too big to use as footstones and some columns are located on the corner of the footstones. If a column and a footstone didn't fit, our ancestors just inserted wooden wedges. Wooden steps for the floor are very impressive itself. Using axes, they cut out some parts of a thick tree to make steps.
These shows the principle of our ancestors: "a building is just a part of the nature".
Mandaeru is the vista itself. Byeong-san(a mountain) and a river which runs horizontally and Mandaeru located highly and long.
People who step up Mandaeru become a part of a vista, and finally they also become the nature.
